Some Highlights:

In 1898, architects Francis M. Rattenbury (who designed the Parliament Buildings and The Empress Hotel) and John G. Tiarks purchased land in the neighbourhood of the proposed Prospect HCA and began drawing plans and building. Oak Bay’s historic neighbourhood includes FIVE HOMES by Rattenbury: lechinihl (1898; 1701 Beach Drive, now Glenlyon Norfolk School), Briarbrae (1904; 1605 York Place), Lampman House (1907; 1630 York Place), C. Mason Dubois House (1908; 1525 Prospect Place), and Gibson House (1919; 1590 York Place).
